Alanna here, the artist behind The Wooden Window. I am a dedicated biologist working full time as a consultant with a unique hobby-turned-part-time business. I decided to combine my passions for crafting and the environment by repurposing antique windows and detailing sustainably sourced wood into beautiful, and sometimes functional, works of art. I opened The Wooden Window in 2019, on the recommendation of friends and family, to help showcase my creative endeavours and am excited to share this adventure with you as it continues to unfold!

Up until a few years ago, the majority of my time was spend on custom commissions. However, due to my limited capacity, I began selling items at local markets instead (since 2022) which has allowed me to focus on creating pieces that are a direct reflection of my creative vision! This has also allowed me the freedom to create different types of art on various canvases and leaning different skillsets along the way.
